Privacy Policy
Last modified: September 2026, GROG Post-Production Platform
1. Protection of Personal Information (POPIA)
GROG is dedicated to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and security of personal details gathered from freelancers, indie studios, and clients across South Africa.
In compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we process information solely for workspace collaboration, identity verification, milestone payouts, and project dispute resolution.
2. Information We Collect
To provide milestone escrow workspaces and automated banking distributions, we collect the following records:
- Account Data: Full name, creative handle (@handle), email address, and encrypted authentication credentials.
- Banking Details: South African bank name, account holder name, account number, and branch code used exclusively for EFT settlement payouts.
- Project Metadata: Scopes of work, timecoded revision logs, project messages, and direct messages between connected creators.
- Media Assets: Google Drive links for streaming review cuts, rendered deliverables, and profile avatar images saved locally to the server.
3. Payment Processing via Yoco
All 50/50 upfront milestone deposits, scope add-ons, and final milestone settlements are handled securely through our payment provider, Yoco.
GROG does not store credit or debit card numbers on our servers. All transaction authorizations happen directly via Yoco's PCI-DSS compliant checkout portals.
4. Protected Streaming & File Security
Work-in-progress review assemblies are embedded in view-only containers. GROG disables standard context menus (right-click) across client portals to prevent unauthorized media extraction prior to final milestone funding.
Master deliverable downloads stay restricted on our database until project completion states are reached and escrow releases.
5. Data Retention & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal details, contact lists, or project footage to advertising brokers. Data is shared exclusively with:
- Yoco Technologies: For transaction authorizations, payment notifications, and escrow settlement verification.
- South African Banking Clearing Systems: For Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) directly to creator accounts.
- Auditing Personnel: Strictly when an account holder formally disputes a review or requests an investigation into project chats.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to your stored personal records, update banking details through your profile settings, or request account termination. For any POPIA-related questions or data removal requests, contact the administrative desk at support@grog.co.za.
